IBM Cloud Migration

Take your on-premises system to a cloud based solution.

So, you have a system on-premises and it is doing the job. But, what are you missing out on by not modernising your system? If you have an old system, you might be struggling with slooooooow loading times, errors cropping up in your systems, or in Excel.

It seems daunting to move your financial data to a cloud system, but in reality, it’s easier than you think. Whether you’re just thinking about doing a cloud migration, are partially through and need some support with your strategy, or need some help with fixing bugs, we can pick it up. No matter where you are in the process, we can step in and support you through the transition from on-premises to cloud.

How we do it:

We make sure that any cloud migrations we do are safe, secure, and reliable. We know how precious financial data is, so we take extra care to ensure that nothing is lost and that everything from your operational data, to your predictive analytics, to your financial data is moved over and secure.

Step 1

Plan it out

First things first, we do a licence review of your current environment and how this will translate to a cloud platform. In our initial meeting about a cloud migration, we run you through the options and what fits your needs, including user numbers and RAM space requirements. We’ll talk you through how the migration works in depth and give you a step by step guide.

Step 2

Lift & Shift

Next up, we move the system over. Depending on how your on-premises environment is set up, we can move it within one week, simple as a lift and shift. We’ve developed processes that make it easy and will walk you through exactly how we do the migration.

Step 3

Bug solving

Next up, we make sure that everything is up to scratch and that any bugs that may have cropped up with the switch to cloud are quickly resolved, so you won’t have to deal with any redundant data, inconsistencies, encryption errors or misconfigured permissions.

Step 4

Check access

Once we’ve established the system on the cloud, we make sure that there’s still consistent access to data sources, good data security, and that everyone who needs access to the system still has it.

Then that’s it. The system has been migrated onto the cloud.

Why do it?

A common question we get from people is why should they take their on-premises system to the cloud. While there are a few reasons that modernising your system works, the main thing to ask yourself is how far behind are you and why? The main reasons we recommend moving to a cloud environment are:

  • Removes the need for VPN programs, allowing users to access their system from anywhere on any device without the issues of network connection.

  • Opens up access to the latest software updates, so you know you’re always working on the most up to date version of the system.

  • Money savings, instead of eating the cost of hosting, servers, and the software maintenance, IBM does that. So all you have to worry about is your business.

If you’re doing a general on-premises to cloud shift, we know that sometimes the FP&A software can be left behind if there’s no owner of it throughout the move, but, it’s a key part of your tech stack. So, finance teams need to be able to get back onto it quickly, without any hassle. That’s where we come in. We can become the owner of the product throughout the move and support through that transition.

Regardless of what you need, we can build a bespoke cloud migration that works for you and your system.
