IBM Planning Analytics is the new name for what was previously known as IBM Cognos TM1. What has changed? For one, the Cognos branding has been removed and secondly, IBM Planning Analytics is a suite of products, not only IBM Cognos TM1.
Included under the Planning Analytics banner are TM1, Cognos Integration Server and Cognos Command Center (which coincidently, keep their Cognos branding).
Cognos Integration Server (CIS) enables you to source specialized cube data across financial, sales and operational applications from a variety of sources. The solution extracts application content including data and metadata and moves the information into Cognos TM1, IBM Planning Analytics or performance management applications. It makes data extractions easier to build and maintain for continuous planning and reporting cycles.
If you are struggling to manage data between IBM TM1, Oracle Hyperion applications and SAP Business Warehouse (BW) you can reduce the need for custom integrations that typically introduce compliance risks and place a burden on scarce technical resources.

Cognos Command Centre (CCC) provides self-service process automation. Through a single interface, it enables you to view and run automated processes on an ad hoc basis, and diagnose and address issues much more quickly. The solution reduces the complexity of working in diverse software environments and brings you greater simplicity and control, so you can focus on what matters most — your business.
